About
Hi, I’m Joshua Onden-Lim, a physiotherapist based in Lidcombe and the founder of Onward Physiotherapy. I’m passionate about helping people reduce pain, restore movement, and build confidence in their bodies. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing a long-standing issue, or working toward a physical goal, my approach is tailored, one-on-one, and focused on what matters most to you.
Background and Qualifications
I completed my Master of Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney and have gone on to do additional training in areas I’m passionate about including dance injury management, dry needling, casting, running assessments, and jaw-related conditions like TMJ/TMD.
I’ve worked in a mix of public hospitals (Dubbo, Camden, and Campbelltown) and private practice, which has given me experience with a wide variety of people and conditions. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping everyone from elite performers to everyday movers and I genuinely enjoy getting to know each person’s story and working together to help them feel more capable and in control of their movement.

Experience and Philosophy
My journey into physiotherapy has been shaped not just by professional training, but also by my own experiences with injury and rehabilitation. As someone who dances, runs, and plays soccer, I’ve had my fair share of setbacks and I know first hand how frustrating and isolating pain can feel. Going through the rehab process myself taught me the value of patient-centred care, clear communication, and treatment that feels genuinely supportive and empowering.
Clinically, I’ve worked across public hospitals and private practice, helping people of all ages and activity levels from elite performers to everyday movers. These experiences reinforced my belief that great physiotherapy starts with listening, understanding, and tailoring care to the individual.
As a physiotherapist based in Lidcombe, I support clients through rehabilitation after sports, dance, and everyday injuries with treatment tailored to their lifestyle and goals. When you work with me, you can expect one-on-one support that’s grounded in evidence and guided by what matters most to you.
My approach combines hands-on therapy, progressive exercise rehab, and practical education with a focus on building long-term strength, confidence, and independence. Whether you’re managing a new injury, recovering from surgery, or dealing with persistent pain, I’m here to help you move forward with clarity and support every step of the way.

The Care I'd Want for Myself – And for You
I started Onward Physiotherapy to provide the kind of care I’d want for myself - personalised, thoughtful, and never rushed. In previous roles, I often felt limited by short appointment times and packed schedules, which made it hard to give people the time and attention they deserved. I wanted to create a space where every individual feels heard, supported, and given the time to make real progress.
Being based inside IMI Entertainment, a professional dance studio with world-class instructors, allows me to offer physio in a private room designed for movement. Our treatment rooms are clean, spacious, and private, with large mirrors that allow you to review your technique and monitor your progress. As someone with a background in dance, I understand the physical demands certain activities place on the body and I apply that same attention to detail to everyone I work with, whether you’re a performer, athlete, or simply looking to move more freely in everyday life.
We also have access to Gym Physix, the state-of-the-art gym next door, which we use with patients when appropriate. It’s a clean, safe, and welcoming environment with high-quality equipment perfect for movement-based rehab. Strengthening is a key part of injury recovery and prevention, but we know it can sometimes feel intimidating or inconvenient. That’s why we work with you, and when helpful, alongside personal trainers or other health professionals to build your strength safely and with confidence.
At Onward Physiotherapy, we stay up to date with the latest research, tools, and techniques to offer evidence-informed care that’s practical and real-world focused. Whether you’re recovering from injury, managing persistent pain, or working toward a physical goal, we tailor each session to support your needs, goals, and progress.
Onward is about taking the next step wherever you’re starting from, and we’re here to walk that journey with you.
Beyond the Clinic
When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll usually find me running, dancing, or playing soccer (occasionally pretending I’m better at it than I actually am). I enjoy spending time with my church community, getting overly competitive in board games, trying different foods, staring down a bookshelf full of unread books, and slowly attempting to learn Korean.
What I enjoy most about my work is the people. I genuinely love getting to know each person’s story, working alongside them toward their goals, and watching their confidence grow as they move with less pain and more freedom.
